Happy Easter!!!

HAPPY EASTER & SPRING FRIENDS!

Two of my favorite pictures from our beach trip to Hilton Head Island, SC.
The first one is just so...US...embracing life and all that it brings to the table no matter what.
Through the rain and storms there is always sun and a rainbow...you just have to keep the faith that you will find both.

And both Alexa & Riley aren't so much in that snotty-teen mode anymore (phew) so I got
pictures of them interacting and SMILING...who knew hahahaha!

I can't believe this Friday will be my daughter's 18th birthday...I still think sometimes she should be in pigtails and going off to pre-school NOT college this fall. The time flies by that's for sure!

We spent our last night on the island having our "Easter" dinner on Friday instead of Sunday.
Alexander's in Palmetto Dunes is my favorite restaurant, food is always excellent & just a great atmosphere.  I wanted to wear my Easter dress but it was pouring rain & I was too chilled.
I swapped out for my navy silk shirt and navy Michael Kors shoes instead...obviously the chilly air didn't deter my teens though :)

And last picture for today is one of my son and husband.  My son is 16 and is so big that sometimes I shake my head to make sure I'm not dreaming...I still see him as that sweet-smiling 5 year old hugging onto my leg.  Now he's bigger than his dad...ay yi yi!  He's resembles my brother so much both in looks and mannerisms but every now and then I see my husband in him.

Love them all so much!

I hope your Easter is filled with blessings, love, laughter & time spent with family and friends!

Spring Break Time!

Happy TGIFriday everyone!  I'm soooo excited, I just can't hide it...doo doo doo doooo! LOL!  We leave tomorrow for one of my favorite places on earth...Hilton Head Island, SC...just crossing into SC makes me relaxed and happy!  And a week on the beach...ummm HEAVEN!  I so need a change of scenery after the past 8 weeks and looking forward to the ocean, family time and just some great downtime (and lots of reading whoohoo).

When we go in the summers we usually rent a house on the beach for 2 weeks, but for Spring Break week we always stay at the Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa in Palmetto Dunes.  The staff knows us, they are lovely and the service NEVER disappoints.  Its like a home away from home for us after going for 8 years.
Ummm and did I mention its right on the beach...heaven for sure for this gal!

We will be celebrating Easter on Saturday since we have to travel on Sunday.  Kids have off on Monday, but its a long drive and we gotta get the doggies from my mom's house before heading home.
So I thought I'd share what I am wearing for Easter dinner this year with y'all.  Easter is one of those times that I like to wear dresses...I'm not really a dress girl...I don't find them all to be that flattering on me for whatever reason.

Its actually navy in real life which is one of my fave colors.  And it was 50% off at Loft here (use code SPRING)...bonus!!  I liked the fit, it was a great length and perfect for Spring and other occasions.

I have a necklace almost identical to this one but mine came from the Juniors Dept of Nordstroms.  I have matching bauble earrings and bracelet too but much smaller & delicate in scale to not overdo it.
This one is only $15...statement necklaces make the outfit at times ;)

Yes I might've splurged on a Michael Kors purse hehehe.  I originally wanted this one but after seeing it in person realized it was just WAY too big for this gal.  So I found this purse, loved the navy-n-white and it was a great size.

These heels are very similar to the shoes I have except the heels on mine are 1 inch higher...but they are Nine West as well.  I love a nice T-Strap heel for Spring :)
******

So there ya go!  I will have a couple posts next week but it will be "lighter" than usual while I enjoy vacation with my family.
I hope you and yours have a wonderful week & Happy Easter!

Pastel Spring Pretties!

Spring Table Settings & Ideas

I love a beautiful table setting. I may be slightly addicted to tableware and decorations...just slightly.  We don't eat in our formal dining room often enough and in the next house we build I will not have ANY formal rooms at all....we just don't live that way and its wasted space in our house.  However I still will dress our table in the kitchen up as often as I can...I have different color themes for each season and keep adding to it ;)  So I'm just loving a beautiful Spring colored table.

Its no surprise that winter was WAY too long and it actually snowed again on Sunday...whattttt...crazy stuff!  So I'm going to pull out all my pretty dishes soon and get some fresh tulips and decorate my table to bring some Spring inside.  These beautiful tablescapes and ideas inspired me so I thought I'd share with you in case you need some enabling inspiring as well!

The pops of fresh Spring green paired with white make me happy...and love those fun polka-dot eggs!

I'm all for the all natural look and love those cute bunny ear napkin rings...too cute!
Soft pops of pastels on the Easter Eggs add just enough color too!

Love the soft almost neutral colors of this setting with the frilly edges of the dishes...so pretty!

All white paired with pops of lilac...and those colored mercury-glass eggs are so gorgeous!

A more natural & rustic feel to this Easter setting. Love the pops of pale pastels and those bunny napkins are fabulous!  I have a huge collection of Depression Glass that is perfect for Easter!

Pretty in Pink....love the gingham ribbon and soft pinks used!

Those daisy dishes are awesome....yellow paired with pale green are always pretty to
use on your table all Spring & Summer long.

For anyone that loves blue, this is a gorgeous setting with all those pretty white bunnies and flower holders. Love the soft touches of coral too!

Or a shabby chic version with a vintage tablecloth, pale blue accents and lots of antique dinnerware.

Let me count the number of cool things about this table...(1) the carrot makes this setting (2)the chalkboard place setting label (2) the rustic twine (4)the orange soda in glasses (5) the dark green accents....JUST LOVE ALL AROUND!

Peaches & Cream....gorgeous colors, tulips and matching pretty bowls of jelly beans!

Gorgeous shades of blues scattered around this table.....yummy!

Love using cracked egg shells to create mini vases at each place setting or grouped together.
Now I gotta buy myself some of those egg holders {wink}!!!

How gorgeous are these Sequin Eggs?  Looks a little tedious to make, but the payout is great!

Fun Easter favors made from recycled baby food jars and filled with sweet treats.  Could use any glass container you have on hand or find...so pretty at each place setting too!

Or some fun carrot favors....wrapped up lollipops made with paper napkins, tulle and ribbon!
Quick & easy to make and fun project to do with kids too!

These would make gorgeous Easter gifts for your guests as well! Pale aqua strawberry baskets filled with an Easter cookie, rock candy stick and fun pinwheel.  Lovely!

And these are darling aren't they?  Fruit & nut cups made into mini Easter Baskets filled with treats.
Cute for each place setting or scattered around your table or buffet. You could cut pastel colored paper cups in half as well and use.  So easy to make up!

These would be darling with each guest's name written on the egg or even stencil
a monogram on each one.

Anyway I hope this gives you some Easter/Spring table decorations!!
I can't wait to get started--will share pictures when I do!
