A Few Faves....

I know, I know....I've been on vacation for 2 weeks and I still haven't done a picture post.  I promise its coming..but I only have 2 weeks left with my daughter before we pack her off to college and I'm trying to make the most of my time.  Once that is done I will have LOTS of time to post all sorts of things here on the blog...you can't get family time back and that has always been my #1 priority.

But I thought I'd pop in here with a few of my newest favorite things...in case you want them to be your newest fave things too..hahaha (or not)!!

BTW...I ordered this bag this week...thanks for all those that commented and voted on this post here...I ended up with the red but a different pattern.  I think I will love it!! You can make your own bag combo here too if you want ;)

*****************

I like to use some eyeshadow that has a bit of shine or sparkle in it on the middle of my eyelids, the corners and on my brow bone....makes me look more awake (thank god) and gives your eyes a lift..without the surgery $$.  I bought some of this CoverGirl Bombshell shine shadow while on vacation and I just love it!  It goes on like a balm...light & smooth and never too heavy and the color lasts, so its great for summertime.  I got the Ice & Copper colors but it comes in others...nice for days when you need a quick pick-me-up too but don't feel like putting on a full face.

If you follow this blog you know I have a slight obsession with dry shampoo because I have fine, dry hair that goes a few days between shampooing. I've tried many and love few let's put it that way.  I read a good review on this new Herbal Essence Dry Shampoo for colored hair and figured I'd try it...plus I had a $2 off coupon...bonus!  And you know what....its pretty darn good. Lightly smelling of roses but not overpowering, comes out in a nice wide spray and does a good job of soaking up oil.  So I definitely like it as a cheaper alternative to some of those more expensive versions.

Have you seen these?  They are pretty darn cool I tell ya...it fits over most containers (cups, water bottles, pitchers, etc) so makes it very versatile.  You can keep it near your faucet and use it whenever you'd like or carry it with you while you are traveling...save you money on water bottles that's for sure! I really like it and the design was ingenious.

If you love nail polish like I do...you may want to try this?  A lot of the new glittery, textured nail polishes are a PAIN-IN-THE-A$$ to get off...literally my hand cramps up trying to get it off and that's with using a base coat.  So OPI came out with this base coat called "Glitter Off" and its AMAZING (hear me singing)!  So you put it on as a base coat, let it dry and then apply your textured nail polish on top. When you are ready to take it off...it PEELS off pretty easily...GENIUS I tell ya..just genius!

Ever have a gap in your pants in the backside...does it make you crazy...you've tried everything to no avail.  Then let me tell you about this cool product I discovered...it makes it go away.  I have a couple pair of pants that I LOVE but they gap in the back so badly that I don't like to wear them when I have a tucked in shirt or a sweater that may rise up a bit.  And I don't want anybody seein' down my pants LOL!  These come in different colors but they work like magic, are under $9 and easy to put on...so if you got a back-gap (hehehe) these are a quick solution.

Just a few things I thought I'd share........

A Hairy Situation!!!

Hi friends!  I have a super crazy week going on with doctors appointments, lunch dates and birthday stuff...for myself this time though.  I told the kids that when you get older you either get to:  A-forget about your birthday or B-get a weeklong birthday LOL...its our prerogative at this point right?  And then I get to follow it up with Mother's Day..hehehe...oh yeah with teens in the house I use it when I can.

I'm getting my hair done this week too...I'm not a fan of sitting in a hairdresser's chair...yup I'm weird like that.  I put it off until my roots are a foot long...no lie LOL!  I am super sensitive to strong chemical smells and I don't sit "well" for very long so its like 2 strikes against me in a salon.  But I haven't had my hair done since November and its time.  Plus I have to get my license renewed this week so I want my picture to look somewhat decent since it will be with me for the next 7 years.

For those of you that bought the Living Proof hair products (this post)...thanks for messaging me and letting me know that you love them as much as me.  Makes me feel better since I now know they are MAGIC IN A BOTTLE lol!

********
I have 2 hair tools that I am loving as well...you know I have the hair from hell as I posted in this post here.  So when I find something that works well I'm always amazed that its actually doing something for me ;)  So of course I will share with you if you haven't seen or tried them yet...and some of you may be thinking I'm wayyyy behind  too.

My newest fun hair tool is a curling wand.  I've been using a curling iron since 6th grade when my sister gave me a purple one for Christmas.  I don't like change. So I resisted the wands.  But Alexa got one this past Christmas and I saw what it did to her hair, which is exactly like my hair so I thought I'd try one out.  This Remington Silk Ceramic Wand came with GREAT reviews and a LOW price...worth a try for $21.  OMGosh I love it...it gives my hair body and the curls stay all day and the next too.  I had a wee bit of trouble wrapping my hair at first but after a couple of days I got the hang of it.  This wand comes with a heat glove in case you burn your fingertips a lot...I used it once but haven't since.

This was taken at the beach in SC so my hair has a wee bit of frizz going on but you can see the curls..my hair is usually PIN straight. But these curls stayed nice for 2 days without doing much. I love that...less time I have to spend on my hair the better.  And it helped give my hair some body which is ALWAYS helpful.

Olivia Garden: Ceramic+Ion Supreme Combo Brush

I would love to own a Mason Pearson 100% boar brush...but at $150+ I'm just not gonna pull that plug yet KWIM?  So I went on a research mission to find a brush that did similar good things and had great reviews from people of all hair types.  And I came up with this Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion brush (its got boar bristles too) because my hair tangles easily and when I brush it out it can FLY all over like a hair-halo...but mine is not a pretty halo type.  Static does not look good on my head people...just sayin'.
OMGOSH I LOVE IT!  It detangles my hair easily, no static and it just looks smoother after brushing it out.  And best part is it is under $30 buckaroos my friends.

*******

John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze Clear Shine, 6.5 oz, 2 pk

And last but not least is another little trick ole' Suzanne keeps in her hair-arsenal.  This is not a new trick I just found, but something I have been using since it came out about 2 years ago.  Because I don't like to get my hair colored often this helps keep me out of the salon chair for about 5-6 months.  YESSS I only get my hair done 2-3 times a year...its true...its how I roll.
So anywho, you put this clear shine gloss by John Frieda on and its safe for all hair types and hair colors and it makes your hair color look better, brighter, smoother and glossier.  WIN WIN WIN WIN!  And its cheap too!  You get 2 packs for under $15 :)  If you haven't tried it you can thank me later...trust me it really makes your hair BETTER!  I..no..lie.

WHAT'S YOUR BEST HAIR TOOL/SOLUTION?
SHARE WITH ME...I NEED TO KNOW!!!

Scary Hairy!!

Yeah its the "Rachel"...you remember it right?  Jennifer Anniston's hot haircut from the 90's show 'Friends' that had a lot of me us running to the salon to get a version.  Yup yours truly had that haircut and I loved it...minus the fact that it took forever to blowdry that way with multiple round brushes...the same reason Jennifer said she hated it (but doubt that she actually did any blowdrying herself right?)  Course my hair was thicker at age 19 than it is nowadays...the horrors of growing older I guess eek.

And umm ok her hair is still gorgeous today....I hate her yet love her yet hate her...no fair.
Of course if we believe everything we read then all I need to do is drink that SmartWater like her right?
Or a full time stylist...yeah that's the ticket.
Bwahahahahaa...not

So I'm gonna go all ad-like, celebrity promotional on you today.  Forgive me for I do it simply for the reason of sharing my own joy with you.  I didn't receive the products for free nor will I receive anything from this review I promise you.  I'm simply a connoisseur (ha) of hair care products and I've amassed quite a collection over the years trying different ones out.  Because simply I have the WORST HAIR on this planet ugh.  Its super straight, super fine and can be on the dry side...oh and I have a squirrelly cowlick in the back of my head that likes to swirl my hair at crazy angles.
I know, I'm a mess I tell ya!  I battle every day and currently the meds that I'm on make it worse and thinner....ACK!  Ponytails are my bestest friends right now!

So my stylist recommended that I try out Living Proof's line of hair care.  The salon doesn't sell it but she uses it herself and she said I would love it.  She has hair similar to mine and I'm pretty sure she owns a magic wand because her hair looks NOTHING like mine (I hate her...I kid of course...not really...lol).  So I used the rest of the bottle errr, one of the many bottles I have in my shower and then I ordered the shampoo and conditioner the next day {wink}.

NO this is not me, nor does my hair look THAT good...but its a dream people, its my dream!

Its been 3 weeks and I have to share my HAIR JOY with you...no my hair didn't take on a supernatural essence of beautifulness like a floating angel, but it is fuller and healthier looking.  And it smells good too...not that my hair stunk before (just sayin' geesh) but the shampoo/conditioner smell clings to your hair longer...I just love it.  And yes, it is a bit more expensive than the $8 bottle of L'oreal Everpure I also own but its been worth every darn penny.  So I use it every other shampoo to make it last and of course you don't need a ton of it to get your hair clean (even longer hair like mine).  I also don't shampoo my hair every day because it doesn't need it being dry like the Sahara...usually every 3 days is my routine with some Dry Shampoo in between to keep it fresh y'all ;)

So they have all different shampoo, conditioners and other hair treatments available for many hair types.
I've heard a TON of awesome reviews on the "Prime Style Extender" for keeping hair clean longer, static free and blow-out styled perfectly.  I haven't tried it...yet..but you can bet I will soon to test it out! Oh and if or when you order directly from them you get samples too...I got a sample of a hair mask but haven't used it yet.

My friend started using the No Frizz version a week ago, she loves it and she thanked me for recommending it and for making her spend more $$ on her hair (your welcs).

Oh and they are all sulfate-free, silicon free and oil free...BONUS!!
That sulfate stuff is icky for your hair you know, stay away from it especially if you
dye your hair.

So I just thought I'd share...you know in case you have hair horrors like myself.
Or you are just addicted to trying all different types of hair care products.
Or if you want a small hair miracle for under $25.

If you do get some, let me know what you think ok?
If you hate it...welllllll tell them ok? ;)
